Tetley's Associate Artists Programme 2019-21
Tetley's Beer and The Tetley support four artists annually as part of The Tetley's Associate Artists Programme (TAAP). The successful artists are: K.P.Culver, Ro Hardaker, Jack Pell and Annabel Taylor-Munt. TAAP is a year-long tailored mentoring and development programme that aims to provide opportunities in Leeds and Yorkshire to foster a new generation of artists, which has since been extended to continue support for this cohort in the current pandemic.
Selected by Bryony Bond, Artistic Director at The Tetley, Dr Helen Pheby, Head of Curatorial Programme at Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Simeon Barclay, artist, the selected TAAP artists demonstrate a strong direction in their practice, but will benefit from external support and recognition to take their talent to the next level. Each selected artist will have a budget of £1,500 to spend on bespoke needs, such as a guest mentor, curatorial visits or developing work.
K.P.Culver's practice explores the relationship between the body and environments through movement and repetition. Using sculpture, performance and text to focus on office spaces in particular. Based in Leeds, Culver is a member of artist-led studio and project space serf and has exhibited at Index Festival (Leeds), Paradise Works (Manchester), and Humber Street Gallery (Hull). Culver was also recently awarded a micro commission from The ArtHouse (Wakefield).
