Nook of the North Mahler Necklace No 1
Nook of the North has explored the use of printing techniques in the 1950's and 1960's. This necklace is inspired by and named after Marion Mahler.
The pendant is made from Off White linen and is fully interfaced to provide support. Featuring hand-stitched geometric shapes with the fabric on a hoop and then bound the edges using embroidery threads in Blush and Burnt Orange.
This is suspended under a hammered brass bar and hung from a chain of gold vermeil (sterling silver plated with 18ct gold). All findings are 18ct gold vermeil.
The pendant measures 90x50mm and the chain is 24" long trace chain.
Nook of the North was founded by Becca, an embroidery artist and jeweller based in Yorkshire. Nook of the North is inspired by Becca's love of lines, textures, colour-blocking, shapes, collaging and composition. All pieces are handmade in Becca's studio in Yorkshire.
